I'm Ba-ack!

Wow, I almost forgot I had this thing. Actually, I remembered a few months ago. Then I remembered that I forgot my password. And since I expired my old dkrealities domain email, I couldn't reset it. So I created a new journal, which I didn't update for a month. Then I realized I had forgot that password too... and the user name... Seriously, I have another journal out there that I can't remember what the hell I used for a name.

Oh well. I finally got around to reseting my old email account, and updated LJ with my current email address.

It really has been over a year since I last updating this thing. I suppose with the advent of Facebook, it was inevitable. I'm actually curious if anyone still updates their LJ. Unfortunately I have to be at work in 6.5 hrs, so I can't go surfing around reading peoples pages.

I guess with my birthday coming up, it's natural to look back and see where you've gone in the last year, or in my case, decade. I'm hitting the 30 mark, and definitely feeling my years. Especially since I'm partying more than I did throughout most of my 20s. :)

A lot has happened in the last year... Would take months to update. Heck, it'd take a few days to write up what's happened in the last month alone. A lot of changes - mostly good, some will have to wait and see.

Anyway, I should crash, so hello, good night, and if you're still around and bored enough to read this, drop me a message. Would love to hear from everyone.

Slainte!

I'm a high priest...

Mar. 5th, 2007 | 10:09 pm

You are The Hierophant

Divine Wisdom. Manifestation. Explanation. Teaching.

All things relating to education, patience, help from superiors. The Hierophant is often considered to be a Guardian Angel.

The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth. Where the High Priestess between her two pillars deals with realms beyond this Earth, the Hierophant (or High Priest) deals with worldly problems. He is well suited to do this because he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. The Hierophant's only problem is that he can be stubborn and hidebound. At his best, he is wise and soothing, at his worst, he is an unbending traditionalist.

Update

Wow, it's been only about 6 weeks since I've last updated, but so much has happened. Too much to talk about, and apparently I've got a lot to update, including a tag by [info]veshy. And lord knows I can't disappoint a beautiful woman. I'll get to it as soon as I can.

There are so many things I wanted to update my journal with, but just haven't had the time. And some of my opinions lately haven't been too popular, so I've actually started a My Space site. I may or may not let you know what the link is here. Plus, I've had a lot to drink tonight... Man, I blame Neil for my new taste in scotch.

Scotch is an interesting drink. There are so many nuances when discovering the ins and outs of scotch whiskey. I definitely have a favorite in the 'Livet 18. The Macallan is okay... I like sherry, but it takes a bit of getting used to. The malt club I've joined has some interesting events, but they can get costly. I spent the afternoon looking for a good scotch decanter, but it's bloody hard to find a good one in Calgary. I've found a bunch of wine and aperatif decanters, but apparently drinking scotch is a very select thing in cow-town.

Well, I better get some sleep. Off to the Flames skills competition in the morning. And I gotta figure out what I gotta do with the signed bra and thong present I got tonight... I'm disturbed, and a little intrigued by this gift...

Remember, Love & Peace! Schneider out.

(Oh, and for those that really know me, due to my carelessness, co-workers have now started calling me "Schneider". You can all now laugh and cheer. You fuckers. I hate you all, I really, really do. LOL. :P )

Oh, and for those actually bored enough to read my journal, I've given up on the wedding count. I'm currently at 36 or 37. Xmas and the new year has been just ridiculous. I shit you not. I actually know almost 40 couples getting married. So never bitch to me about how many weddings you have to go to. :P

Happy Holidays Folks!

Just so I don't forget, and in the very likely case I won't update before the end of the month, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, a very Merry Hannukah, a kick-ass Kwanzaa, and a wonderful New Years.

This year, I have a quiz for everyone. A standard/easy one, and one for TRUE Canadians. And as a treat, I have a joke as well:

Q1. Can you name the gift for every day in the Xmas carol, "12 Days of Christmas"? (I tried to remember the other day, and only got up to 10. I got confused with 11 and 12...)

Answer )

Q2. For true Canadians, can you name the gifts for every day in "Bob & Doug McKenzie's 12 Days of Christmas"? (Trick Question!)

Answer )

Now, if you answered the questions, you can get the joke...
Saying the right thing, at the right time... Priceless )

I was only joking...

I was only half kidding to myself when I made the bet, but apparently I have really good luck, or really bad luck, depending on how you look at it.

But going out for our annual December birthday bash, I ran into my old co-worker, Jenny, and her fiance, Devon. So yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have actually reached 25 engagements.

Congrats to Devon & Jenny Cook!

And on a serious note, you all can stop now. No more weddings please. I'm seriously going bankrupt right now. Yeesh.

Weekend Update...

Sep. 27th, 2006 | 03:53 pm
location: @work
mood: amusedamused
music: Lite96 Radio

... but unfortunately I'm no Kevin Neelan. It's a late update about the last weekend, but I'm only recovering on sleep now. Let's see... Annual BBQ at [info]lazyjai to catch up with Mike (pictures below!), David & Trevor's wedding, shopping with my cousin from Belize then dinner with other cousins.

Working backwards, took my very pregnant cousin Angie out and about on Sunday. Her baby's going to be BIG. He's already 6lbs and she's not due until November. After, had dinner at my other cousin's place, Alice & Bill. Got to play with their kids, which I still haven't figured out if they're my second cousins, or cousins once removed... (If anyone knows, let me know!) They call me uncle though, and I just refer to them as my baby cousins. (All my actual cousins are older than me. I'm the baby of the family. ^_^)

Proudly attended David's and Trevor's union. I was a big hit. I actually made gay men jealous with my spectacular dancing abilities... which is pretty sad if you ever saw me dance. But I gave a very moving and touching (yet humorous) speech/toast. I live my life by 2 movies at the moment - Hitch and Wedding Crashers. And it's working. Not only was I the only Asian (non-caucasian) person at a red-neck gay union (don't ask me how that happened, it just was), but the only straight single guy. There was also only one straight single girl there. You can do the math on that one as a gentleman never tells... ;)

But, onto the big event. Annual bbq party/reunion of all of Mike's aquaintances. But [info]lazyjai expanded the guestlist, so I think there were more people there who didn't know Mike than those that did. I haven't seen that much asian jail bait in years... (okay, most of them were probably legal, but speaking to them felt only a little bit higher than talking to my 9 year old baby cousin...) Even though it was the big meat extravaganza, I think I had a chicken wing, and a sausage that I split with [info]veshy...

Mike did prepare a game though, which I thought was kind of weird, but it turned out to be rather fun. Well, it was because my team, Team Dark Schneider, won. Every team had 6 people, I had Rounding. And we kicked everyone's ass! (Actually, only because [info]lavos_hakimi made one major error...)

Anyway, the results of the game are depicted in the links below... Rounding and I were posing with our prizes. We got people laughing so hard with these... My sides were aching and I was crying from laughing by the last one...

Pictures ahoy!
The Saga Begins!
A New Hope...
Phantom Menace, bitch!

Bwahahahaha!!!

Shaken, not stirred.

Thanks to [info]imyril for the link. But here's the trailer for the new Bond flick, "Casino Royale" in case you haven't seen it:

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/casinoroyale/site/

Overall, Craig just didn't look the part at all. Didn't have the visible charisma or dashing good looks as some of the previous Bonds. But having watched the trailer, I'm actually excited to see the new flick now.

Sean Connery will always be the living embodiment of Bond to me. Moore was too classy to be an effective wetworking secret agent, and was no way capable of pulling off the womanizing man that Connery was. Lazenby didn't do enough movies to pass judgement. Timothy Dalton was good, had the looks, but just didn't pull the part off well enough. Brosnan was excellent, but I never really thought he was "British" enough. He had the looks and the right acting ability, but I think the writing ultimately failed him.

With Daniel Craig, his very mannerism seems classy, but not as stiff as Roger Moore. He seems as comfortable in the role as Brosnan did, which is a big plus. He doesn't have the charming good looks as Brosnan, but seems to have enough charisma to pull it off (well, at least from the trailer). He's not going to be the womanizer Connery was, but to be honest, while I loved that about the original Bond, it'd be nice to see him do some real "secret agent" stuff without the need for some pussy to get in the way. (Although my version of heaven involves as many Pussy Galores as I can imagine... ;)

Overall, I think with Casino Royale, I think I'll get the good spy movie that I was never going to get out of the Mission Impossible series of movies. (Seriously, Tom Cruise? I don't think so...)

Anyway, finally another good movie to be excited about other than Spider-Man 3...

Words of Inspiration

Sep. 11th, 2006 | 01:31 pm

LIFE’S LITTLE INSTRUCTIONS

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

I like you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you

Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.
